一、专业简介
康复治疗学(Rehabilitaion Therapy,RT)专业(专业代码:101005)建立于2005年,是全国最早开设该专业的院校之一;广州医科大学第五临床学院于2015年开始承办,形成以广州医科大学第五临床学院为主导,另3所直属临床学院(广州医科大学第一临床学院、第二临床学院、第三临床学院)康复科和3所非直属附属医院(广东省妇幼保健院、广州市妇女儿童医疗中心、 广州脑科医院)康复科“七位一体”联合培养我校本科康复治疗师新格局。
康复治疗学是一门针对患者的各种功能障碍(如运动障碍,言语障碍,认知障碍,吞咽障碍等),实施各种康复治疗技术,使患者最大程度恢复功能,重返家庭和社会的学科。本专业先后获省级一流本科专业、省级特色专业、校级专业综合改革试点、校级人才培养模式创新实验区等。现拥有国家级虚拟仿真实验教学中心、国家级临床教学培训示范中心、2019 国家级虚拟仿真实验项目、省级康复医学实验教学示范中心、省级大学生校外实践教学基地;拥有“源于临床、服务临床”的康复专业师资队伍,并引进境内外知名大学教授参与授课。
二、培养目标
秉持“医文相融,德术兼修,师生为本”的办学理念,培养适应我国社会主义现代化建设和康复治疗事业发展需要,德、智、体、美、劳全面发展,具有扎实操作能力、特色岭南手法、前沿国际视野的高素质康复人才,毕业生能够胜任康复治疗特别是心肺康复治疗相关的临床、教学及科研等相关工作。建设国内一流康复专业,服务粤港澳大湾区健康卫生事业。

四、师资队伍
本专业现有专职教师67名,教授上课比例100%,教学团队3个,全国优秀教师1名,南粤名师3名。近三年获得省级以上教学成果8项,康复医学会教学成果奖一、二等奖;主编、副主编和参编专业相关教材17本;省级以上各级教师获奖16项;省级以上科研立项87项,国自然19项,专利9项;发表SCI共120篇,总影响因子404,核心期刊103篇,各类教学课题35项,教学论文38篇。
五、课程体系
主干学科:康复治疗学、基础医学、临床医学。
专业基础课程:人体解剖学、生理学、病理学、药理学、实验诊断学、临床诊断学、医学影像学、骨科学、内科学、神经病学、康复心理学、人体发育学、医学统计学、科研思路与方法等。
专业课程:康复医学导论、物理治疗概述、作业治疗概述、功能解剖学、呼吸生理与肺功能学、康复评定学、物理因子疗法、呼吸治疗设备学、运动科学、呼吸治疗学、手法治疗学、循证实践、专业英语、中国传统康复方法学、语言与吞咽障碍治疗学、综合疾病康复治疗学、心脏康复学、神经康复学、骨骼肌肉康复学、康复工程学、儿童康复学、精神康复学等。
六、实践教学平台
康复治疗学专业特点是以临床实践操作为主,学院重视实践教学平台建设,教学条件不断得到完善。先后投入康复教学平台建设经费1000余万元,已建成905m2省级实验教学示范中心,仪器设备高达1800万;打造了广州市高水平临床重点培育专科单位、中国康复医学会吞咽专科治疗师实践基地、小儿脑瘫专病管理联盟单位,获批省校企合作育人项目。实验教学中心全部向学生开放。目前每年实验课程超700学时、实验项目100余项。
七、实习教学基地
临床实习教学依托各附属医院和全国各地具有符合国际认证要求带教师资的优质实习教学基地,构建了庞大的临床教学基地体系,临床教学资源丰富,为康复治疗学专业学生的见习和实习教学提供坚实的保障。目前,承担康复治疗学专业临床实习教学的基地有17家,包括广州医科大学附属第五医院、广州医科大学附属第一医院、广州医科大学附属第二医院、广州医科大学附属第三医院、广州医科大学附属妇女儿童医疗中心、广东省妇幼保健院、广州市第一人民医院、广东省工伤康复医院、中山大学附属第一医院、中山大学附属第三医院、中山大学附属第六医院、珠江医院、暨南大学附属第一医院、四川大学华西医院、同济大学附属上海阳光康复中心、社区(大沙街社区卫生服务中心)、黄埔区老人院。各基地均是大型综合性三级甲等医院或大型三级康复中心,能为学生见习和实习提供充足的实践操作机会,有经验丰富的临床师资队伍,为康复临床教学提供保证。
八、对外交流
广医康复治疗学系(康复治疗学,康复物理治疗、康复作业治疗)聘请多名香港理工大学、台湾中山医学大学的康复专家、教授担任课程主讲教师,同时启动与香港理工大学康复治疗科学系、台湾中山医学大学康复治疗学系师资合作培训项目和学生交换见习项目,将定期派送优质教师、学生进行交流学习。在粤港澳大湾区的发展背景下,充分利用广州的地理优势,联合香港地区、澳门地区优秀的教学资源,拓展广医康复的教学平台和力量。今后将开拓更多国际合作点。目前,我系已选派学生到美国 Creigton 大学、台湾中山医学大学进行学习和交流;已选派教师到英国卡迪夫大学、美国杜肯大学、美国南阿拉巴马大学进行 MPT/MOT(物理治疗硕士/作业治疗硕士)。
九、毕业要求与学位授予
毕业要求:符合学校学籍管理规定的毕业要求,并且获得毕业最低要求170学分,其中必修88学分,选修82学分。
毕业考核模式:
(1)毕业实习结束前:临床实践操作。
(2)毕业实习考评:达到本专业培养目标,完成各实习教学环节,考核合格,修满规定学分。
(3)毕业论文:毕业前要求完成一篇论文。
学位授予:符合教育部和我校有关学位授予规定者,经我校学位评定委员会审核通过,授予理学学士学位。
Rehabilitative therapy (RT)
1. Introduction
The Major of Rehabilitation Therapy (RT) was established in 2005 and Guangzhou Medical University is one of the first to offer this program in China. The fifth clinical school of Guangzhou Medical University began in 2015 to undertake and form the fifth institute to lead education for students. The school cooperates with 3 rehabilitative departments of affiliated clinical schools (The First Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University, The Second Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University, The Third Clinical School of Guangzhou Medical University) and the other 3 rehabilitation medicine departments of indirectly Affiliated hospitals (Guangdong Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, The Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University), forming the “Seven in one” joint training new pattern of rehabilitation therapists in our university.
RT is a discipline that applies various rehabilitation therapy techniques aiming at various functional disorders of patients (such as movement disorders, speech disorders, cognitive disorders, swallowing disorders, etc.) to enable patients to recover their functions to the maximum extent and return to their families and society. The program has been awarded provincial first-class undergraduate program, provincial characteristic program, university-level comprehensive reform pilot program, university-level talent training mode, etc. Now it has a national virtual simulation experimental teaching center, a national clinical teaching and training demonstration center, a national virtual simulation experimental project, a provincial rehabilitation medicine experimental teaching demonstration center, and a provincial off-campus practical teaching base for students. We have a professional team of rehabilitation teachers who "originate from clinical practice to serve school teaching", and have recruited professors from well-known universities at home and abroad to participate in teaching.
2.Training Goal
Adhering to the school philosophy of "integrating medicine and literature, practicing morality and art concurrently, and putting teachers and students first", rehabilitative programme students (RTs) will be cultivated to adapt to the needs of China's socialist modernization construction and rehabilitation career. After learning the programme, graduates ought to develop their own morality, intelligence, physical education, art and labor comprehensively with solid operation ability, mastered lingnan manual skills, cutting-edge international vision and high-quality in the field of rehabilitation. The graduates are qualified for rehabilitation especially in cardiopulmonary aspect related with clinics, teaching and scientific research, etc. Building a first-class rehabilitation specialty in China is our goal, serving the health care of Greater Bay Area in our country.

4. Faculty Member
The major has 67 full-time teachers with all professors participating teaching, 3 teaching teams, 1 national excellent teacher, 3 Outstanding Teachers in Guangdong Province. In the past three years, we have obtained 8 teaching achievements above the provincial level and the first and second “Teaching Achievement Award” of the Rehabilitation Medical Association. 17 textbooks related to the major were written by our teachers as the chief editors, deputy chief editors and participating editors. Teachers won 16 awards above provincial level.87 scientific research projects, 19 national natural science projects and 9 patents have been accomplished. A total of 120 SCI papers have been published, with a total impact factor of 404, 103 core journals of China, 35 teaching projects and 38 teaching papers.
5. Curriculum Setting
(1)Programme components: Basic Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Rehabilitative Therapy.
(2)Professional basic courses: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Laboratory Diagnostics, Clinical Diagnostics, Medical Imaging, Osteology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Rehabilitation Psychology, Human Auxology, Medical Statistics, Research Ideas and Methods.
(3)Core curriculum: Introduction to Rehabilitation Medicine, Introduction to Physiotherapy, Functional Anatomy, Respiratory Physiology and Pulmonary Function, Rehabilitation Assessment, Physical Agents Therapy, Respiratory Care Equipment, Sports Science, Respiratory Therapy,Manual Therapy, Evidence-based Practice, Professional English, Traditional Chinese Rehabilitation Methodology, Therapy of Speech and Swallowing Disorders, Rehabilitation Therapy of Comprehensive Diseases, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Neurological Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Neurological Physiotherapy for Adults, Neurological Physiotherapy for Pediatrics, Physiotherapy of Comprehensive Diseases, Physiotherapy for Orthopedics Diseases, Physiotherapy of Cardiopulmonary Diseases and Sports Science.
6. Practice education platform
Clinical practice is primary factor of RT programme. The university attaches great importance to the construction of practical teaching platform and constantly improves the teaching conditions. More than 10 million RMB has been invested in the construction of rehabilitation teaching platform, and the 905 cm2 provincial experimental teaching demonstration center has been built with 18 million RMB of equipment. The institute has built a high-level clinical training unit in Guangzhou, a practice base for swallowing therapists of Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association, a unit of Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Special Disease Management Alliance and a school-enterprise cooperation education project in Guangdong Province. The experimental teaching center is fully open to students. At present, there are more than 700 class hours of experimental courses and more than 100 experimental projects every year.
7. Practice education site
The clinical practice teaching relies on the affiliated hospitals and the high-quality practice teaching bases with teachers' talents that meet the requirements of
international certification all over the country, and constructs a huge clinical teaching base system with abundant clinical teaching resources, which provides a solid guarantee for the apprenticeship and practice teaching of students majoring in rehabilitation therapy.
The RT programme relies on the affiliated hospitals of the university and the high-
quality practice education sites with teachers that meet the requirements of international certification all over the country, and build a huge clinical teaching base system with abundant clinical teaching resources, which provides enough practice opportunities for students and a solid guarantee for the students in RT programme. Currently, there are 17 sites that undertake RT’s practice education, including the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, Guangdong Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital , Guangzhou city first people's hospital, Guangdong Work Injury Rehabilitation Hospital,
the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University , The Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Yangzhi Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital of Tongji University, Community Healthcare Center of Dasha Street and Huangpu district nursing home. Each site is a large comprehensive tertiary class A hospital or a large tertiary rehabilitation center, which can provide sufficient practical opportunities for students' internship, and has a team of experienced clinical teachers to guarantee the clinical teaching of rehabilitation.
8. International Cooperation
Department of Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy) has employed a number of rehabilitation experts and professors from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Chung Shan Medical University as the main lecturers of the course. At the same time, we cooperate with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Department of Rehabilitation Therapy of Chung Shan Medical University for teachers training programs and students exchange project, which will send high-quality teachers and students to communicate on a regular basis. In the context of the development of the Greater Bay Area, the programme will make full use of the geographical advantages of Guangzhou and combine the excellent teaching resources of Hong Kong and Macau to expand the teaching platform and strength in rehabilitation of Guangzhou Medical University. More international cooperation will be explored in the future. At present, Students in RT programme have been sent to Creigton University in the United States and Chung Shan Medical University to study and communicate while outstanding teachers have been selected to study MPT at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, Duquesne University in the United States and the University of South Alabama in the United States. 9. Graduation requirements and degree award
(1) Graduation requirements: Meet the graduation requirements of the University’s Student Status Management Regulations, and obtain the minimum graduation requirement of 174 credits, of which 85.5 credits are compulsory and 88.5 credits are optional.
(2) Graduation assessment model
a. Practice education III evaluation: Achieve the training objectives of this programme, complete each internship section, pass the assessment, and complete the required credits.
b. Final assessment: practical examination.
c, Thesis: One thesis is required before the graduation (From Class 2018)
(3) Degree award
Those who meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Degree Awarding of University will be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree after being approved by the Academic Degree Assessment Committee of the university.
